Stand-Up Comedy, Motivational Message

Michael Joiner is a 15 year national and international touring headlining comedian, who’s clean style of clever sarcasm, quick wit, and uncanny improv and audience interaction skills has them rolling in the aisles every time!

Comedy clubs, churches, colleges and corporate events have all hailed Michael as “one of the funniest stand up comedians working today!”

Besides comedy, Michael also works as an actor on film, television, and commercials in Los Angeles.

In May of 2008, Michael won 1st place at the Hollywood Improv’s “Funniest Comic in LA” contest. In 2006, Michael was chosen as one of only four national touring comedians to star in “The Clean Stand Up Comedy Tour” dvd. He also performed his one hour comedy show in the television series “Bananas”, and was one of “one of a handful” of comedians chosen to perform at the HA! Comedy Club in New York City for the debut of the Gospel Music Channels 1st Stand Up Comedy Pilot.

"In 1988 I was living a destructive lifestyle of drugs and partying that led to my being unemployed and homeless. I went to the city of LA welfare department to get help. They put me up in a loud, dingy, drug infested hotel in downtown LA. When I walked outside after checking in, I asked one of the homeless people where we were at. He pointed to a cross street and said “You’re on skid row.” I knew then I had hit rock bottom…

Somehow I managed to get enough work to get out of there, and I met a young Christian man who needed a roommate. He told me if I was serious about getting out of my situation that I had to “seek the Lord with all my heart”. I stopped everything and did just that. I told God I believed in his Son Jesus Christ and if we would lift me out of this pit of destruction, I would do my best to live for Him….It was like a gigantic weight was lifted off of me, as the light of Gods glorious presence surrounded me inside and out, and I knew God was answering my prayer.

From then on, instead of drugs and partying, I couldn’t wait to tell everyone about Jesus Christ ! I would take a walk to 7-11 and before I left the house I would pray “Lord, lead me to someone who needs to get saved”, and on the way their I would find someone crying about something, or asking me for money, and I would pray with them, and they would get saved.

I went home to Indiana and many of my old friends got saved after I told them what happened to me. The world was indeed “Ripe for Harvest”. I stayed in Indiana for many years as God did many wonderful things; Started my comedy career, my acting career, and my wonderful family. I always felt God was preparing me to come back to LA. In 2003, with my pregnant wife and two small boys in tow, I finally did come back.

My desire is to see this nation get back to its biblical and Christian roots. I believe one of the greatest “strong holds” of the enemy is in the Hollywood movie and TV industry. That is why God has me here. It’s scary, it’s exciting, and it appears to be an impossible task, but I know that with God we can win this city, and in winning this city, win this nation back to what God intended,
